Intercooperation is a leading international non-government and not for-profit making organization, founded in 1982, with our Head Office in Bern, Switzerland. In 1997, we became a Foundation governed by 21 organizations, representing the development community, civil society and the private sector. IC in Pakistan is an active member of the IC Global Network and is registered (2006) as an International NGO with the Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Government of Pakistan. Our country office is based in Peshawar (Pakistan). While we have a history of 25 years of inspiring change, we nurture ambition and experience to extend our expertise through multi partnerships to facilitate a variety of stakeholders. IC is increasingly engaged in development and international cooperation and supports partner organizations in more than twenty development and transition countries of the South and the East. We have a vast portfolio of successful interventions, with principal mandates from the Swiss Government and other international funding partners.

Intercooperation's expertise, process competences and services are grouped around three principal working domains:

. Natural Resource Management (agriculture, forestry)
. Rural Economy (savings and credit, small enterprise promotion, marketing of agricultural and forest products)
. Local Governance and Civil Society (promotion of self-help groups and professional associations).

Our overall aim is to alleviate poverty in rural areas by addressing it through innovative pro-poor approaches and committed partnerships. Intercooperation is a value driven, knowledge organization and an executing agency, combining a professional approach with social commitment. We draw our strength and credibility from our interdisciplinary ability to combine operational knowledge in the field with expertise in policy matters and global issues. We uphold the culture of “one organization” with shared values, globally across four continents.

IC contributes to poverty alleviation through addressing fundamental rights of all men and women to shape their development with requisite skills, access to and control over resources. Our vision is to create an environment within which this is possible.

Our mission is to facilitate stakeholders in identifying their roles and empowering them to capitalize on their potentials through individual and collective actions, ultimately strengthening systems.
